Former National Semiconductor Director, William Mark, Joins SRI As Vice President Of Information And Computing Sciences
Dr. Mark comes from National Semiconductor where he served as Director of the National Semiconductor Architecture Laboratory. He has also worked for the Lockheed Martin Palo Alto Research Labs.
"Bill has the commercial and government business experience needed to open new doors for SRI's Information and Computing Sciences Division as well as the technical expertise that will maintain the Division’s focus on creating innovative technological solutions," said William P. Sommers, president and CEO of SRI International.
Dr. Mark is charged with expanding SRI’s information technology business, opening up new areas of research and applications, and increasing efforts to build commercial business.
He has authored more than 30 publications and is co-inventor on a patent for manufacturing design software. Dr. Mark also serves on DARPA’s Information, Science and Technology Committee and the Editorial Board of IEEE Computer. He received his Ph.D. in computer science from MIT.
